Caring and Achieving with Jesus at our side
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Term Dates
Attendance at school is extremely important and being regularly absent will affect your child’s ability to learn and do well. You may be aware of a recent court case which focused national attention on the fining of parents for taking their children on holidays in school term time.
As a result of this, the county council are reviewing the rules around unauthorised absence and issuing penalty notices to parents. Whilst the review is ongoing, head teachers will continue to review all requests for leave in term time and report all unauthorised absences to the county council.
As a temporary measure when a child has 10 days or more unauthorised absence over two half terms in a row, then a penalty notice may be issued to the parents/carers of that child.
If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your Local Support Team. Contact details can be found on the Council's web site.
School Closures
Staffordshire County Council have implemented new procedures for schools to inform parents of school closures due to adverse weather conditions. All closures can be accessed on their website. Parents can also sign up to the county council’s alert system.

The decision to close our school is not one that will be taken lightly. Consideration will be given to:
-
The state of the pathways, steps and slopes around the school
-
The condition of roads and pathways in the local area
-
If the school’s heating, lighting and water is working correctly
-
Whether catering can be provided

The weather forecast
We will do everything we can to ensure we remain open during the winter months.
