School Council

Our Mission

To be the voice of the pupils, helping to make our school a place where everyone feels happy, safe, and cared for—showing our Christian values in all we do.

What We Do

  1. Listen and Share Ideas

    • Listen to what classmates say about school life.

    • Bring their ideas and suggestions to School Council meetings.

    • Tell your class what was discussed and decided.

  2. Make Our School Better

    • Help with projects to improve learning, playtimes, and the school environment.

    • Work on charity and fundraising events.

    • Plan fun activities that bring the school together.

  3. Live Out Our Christian Values

    • Show kindness, respect, and fairness to everyone.

    • Think about how our decisions can help others.

  4. Support School Events

    • Take part in assemblies, reading or leading prayers.

    • Help with special weeks (e.g., Anti-Bullying, Friendship Week).

Who We Are Looking For

  • A good listener who respects other people’s opinions.

  • Someone who is friendly, fair, and reliable.

  • A person who will speak confidently for their class.

  • Someone who lives out our school’s values every day.

Remember:
School Council members are here to serve the whole school—not just themselves. Together, we make a difference.

House Captain & Vice House Captain​

Our Mission

To be role models, team leaders, and helpers who show our school values every day—through our words, actions, and kindness.

What We Do

  1. Be a Role Model

    • Show respect, kindness, and honesty.

    • Follow our school rules and help others to do the same.

    • Live out our Christian values (e.g. friendship, service, compassion).

  2. Lead Our House Team

    • Encourage and cheer on our house in competitions.

    • Help everyone feel proud to be part of our house.

    • Collect and share house points.

  3. Help at School Events

    • Assist with sports days, church services, and charity events.

    • Read in assemblies or lead prayers.

    • Welcome visitors to our school.

  4. Work as a Team

    • House Captain and Vice work together and share ideas.

    • The Vice steps in if the Captain is away.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Someone who is friendly, fair, and confident.

  • A good listener who works well with others.

  • A person who will always try their best and help others to do the same.

Being House Captain or Vice is not just about winning points—it’s about making our school a happy, safe, and caring place for everyone.

Reading Ambassadors

Our Mission

To help everyone develop a love of reading - sharing stories, celebrating books, and showing our Christian values through encouragement, kindness, and enthusiasm.

What We Do

  1. Promote a Love of Reading

    • Share excitement about books with other pupils.

    • Talk about stories you enjoy and recommend books to friends.

  2. Support Younger Readers

    • Listen to KS1 children read, giving gentle encouragement.

    • Help them sound out tricky words and celebrate their progress.

  3. Look After Our Reading Spaces

    • Keep the school library, reading corners, and book areas tidy and inviting.

    • Help organise books so children can easily find what they need.

  4. Lead Reading Activities

    • Help run reading clubs, story time sessions, or book-themed events.

    • Encourage others to join in, ensuring everyone feels welcome.

  5. Live Out Our Christian Values

    • Show patience, kindness, and encouragement to all readers.

    • Include everyone—celebrating different reading levels, interests, and abilities.

  6. Be a Role Model

    • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards reading.

    • Be responsible, reliable, and respectful when supporting others.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Someone who enjoys books and wants to share that passion.

  • A patient and friendly helper who encourages others

Being a Reading Ambassador means helping others discover the joy of reading and making sure every child feels confident and included as a reader.

Playground Friends

Our Mission

To make playtimes happy, safe, and friendly for everyone—showing kindness, fairness, and our Christian values in all we do.

What We Do

  1. Welcome and Include Everyone

    • Look out for children who are on their own - invite them to join a game or find a friend to play with.

    • Help new pupils feel part of our school family.

  2. Help Solve Small Problems

    • Listen to both sides if children fall out, encouraging them to find a fair solution.

    • Ask an adult for help if the problem is too big.

  3. Lead Games and Activities

    • Teach and organise playground games.

    • Make sure everyone gets a turn and plays fairly, encouraging teamwork.

  4. Live Out Our Christian Values

    • Show kindness, patience, and forgiveness - being a peacemaker, following Jesus’ example.

    • Include everyone, no matter who they are.

  5. Be a Role Model

    • Use good manners and respectful language.

    • Be responsible and trustworthy.

 

Who We Are Looking For

  • A good listener who can stay calm in tricky situations.

  • Someone who enjoys helping and including others.

  • A person who lives out our school’s Christian values every day.

Being a Playground Friend means making sure no one is left out.
